Size: 10,700 sf
Cost: $2,400,000
Completed: August 2012
The 10,700 square foot addition to Chisholm Trail Middle School will house 4 new science laboratories, 2 Prep Rooms, 1 Project Research Room, 1 Group Study Room, and Boys and Girls Restrooms. The addition will be built adjacent to the existing school while enclosing a new courtyard to serve as an outdoor science learning area. Expansive glazing and 12 foot ceilings in each classroom allow for a sense of openness and connectivity between indoor and outdoor learning environments. Large awnings and sun screens were designed to block direct solar heat gain through the glazing while the awnings also serve as exterior shelves from which natural light can be reflected throughout the classrooms. Site improvements also include a new bus drive aisle on the east side of the campus, a new parking lot, and improvements to the storm water system. |
