Wag-a-Bag
Hutto, TX

Cost: $1, 000, 000
Completed: 2008

This project was the newest addition to the Wag – a – Bag “fleet”, if you will. The design of this convenient store was extremely unique because of its location – directly adjacent to the cotton and grain co-operative in Hutto, Texas. The Co-op consists of several silos and held an integral part of the city’s economy for many years. KAH carefully continued the silo theme into the design to ensure that the new store would blend with the original area. This includes spanning a cylindrical mass above the cash wrap allowing natural light to enter the space. A new feature that Wag – a – Bag wanted to incorporate into the store was a separate dining space, allowing their customers to gather. KAH successfully accomplished this design element by merging a metal silo-like feature with the main portion of the building.
