Formerly the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center, the YMCA of the Highland Lakes at Galloway-Hammond is run by the YMCA of Greater Williamson County in conjunction with the City of Burnet. Located at 1601 U.S. 281 South, in the heart of Burnet, Texas, the 50,000 SF amenity center was designed to serve the residents of the Highland Lakes region of Central Texas. Collaborative design efforts with KAH, the YMCA of Greater Williamson County, and the City of Burnet led to the creation of a fresh vision including nearly 30,000 SF of renovated space.

The reconstructed courtyard entrance is equipped with new concrete, exterior signage, and a new 600 SF secured play scape with shade structure. Fifteen foot of new exterior storefront and doors wrap the gymnasium building corner to create much needed natural light. The new open designed lobby consists of exposed painted ceilings, new lights, new lobby reception desk, new café, and new free form VCT pattern integrating YMCA color standard that assists users to various spaces. Additionally, newly created spaces include 2.500 SF Seton Office Physical Therapy Space, Child Watch, Teen Center, Aerobics Room, Spin Room, and Cardio Theatre. New exterior windows were installed in the Free Weights Room to draw in natural light and create an open feel. The existing Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms were completely renovated with new showers, lavatories, toilet partitions, lockers, and new ceramic tile achieving a classic modern feel. The new Flotex anti-microbial locker room flooring is an extremely durable material providing a soft touch and is stain resistant.
