St. John’s Episcopal Church

Programming was important to this urban land-locked congregation when expanding at their current location. Placemats provided by KAH graced the tables throughout the fundraising campaign to show the future Sanctuary. Designed to meet current needs while still allowing for future expansion, the 6,500 sf sanctuary facility now seats 260 people and includes a large Narthex, Sacristy, and choir room. Accented with Gothic elements, the cupola rising from the building attracts attention from many passer-byers. An additional 250 seats can easily be added as future growth dictates.

St. Richard’s Episcopal Church

St. Richards Episcopal Church was designed with a modern vision of Gothic Revival Architecture in the English tradition. Complete with bell tower, narthex, and dramatic heavy timber trusses exposed above the sanctuary, the building was appropriately scaled to provide a place of worship that is both majestic and inviting. Stemming from the sanctuary and supporting congregation rooms is a 7,400 square foot education wing that serves Kindergarten through Eighth grade as well as a nursery.

First Baptist Church Killeen

First Baptist Church of Killeen contacted KAH Architecture to provide master planning and design services for a new campus located on a twenty-acre site. The KAH team met with the church building committee almost weekly over a three-month period; the result: a classic church design centered around a traditional style worship center as the facility cornerstone.

The heart of the worship center is a sanctuary seating 1,000 congregates highlighted by a stained-glass window preserved and relocated from the original church. Administrative and educational facilities comprise the rest of the building which is purposefully programmed to accommodate future expansion.
