Jon Sloan Office Building

New office building being built in historical downtown Round Rock. Designed to be a multi-functional facility so it can house 1 or 2 tenants with separate entrances. The building is to resemble neighboring houses to blend into the neighborhood. Materials used are brick and shingle roof with a front porch to accentuate the residential feel.

Panther Mart

Dean and Melanie Troung’s goal for the Panther Mart Convenience Store was to provide a welcoming design that could be used as a prototype for future locations. Providing easy access and the ability to sit and enjoy a sandwich was the vision for their patrons.

Carrying the Valero Brand, the Panther Mart is wood framed with a combination of stucco, stone siding, and a standing seam metal roof that enhances the local aesthetic of adjacent buildings. Implementing warm color tones in the stucco, stone veneer, and utilizing large Low-E insulated glazing panels provides a beautiful entry for their loyal customers. The 16 door walk-in cooler offers a vast array of choices for every customer. Equipped with stainless steel countertops, ceramic tile floors, and ceramic wall tile, this gas station is built for heavy traffic while maintaining its warm feel.

Wag-a-bag Hutto

A striking, one of a kind addition to its fleet of convenience stores and gas stations, this Wag-a-Bag marries the Hutto community charm into its design. Situated directly adjacent to the cotton and grain co-operative in Hutto, Texas, the design reflects the historical silos that once held an integral part of the city’s economy for countless years.

KAH Architecture strategically laced the silo theme into the design to ensure that the new store would blend with the original area. This includes spanning a cylindrical mass above the cash wrap allowing natural light to enter the space.

A new feature that Wag – a – Bag wanted to incorporate into the store was a separate dining space, allowing their customers to gather. KAH successfully accomplished this design element by merging a metal silo-like feature with the main portion of the building. The unique design makes this Wag-a-Bag much more than a convenience store – it is a place to gather for friendly hellos and pleasant conversation.
